At its heart, First Sight is a story about overcoming grief and our need for human connection.

As technology continues to weave itself into every aspect of our lives - including how we meet, communicate, and form relationships – I was keen to explore how it can bring us closer, but also distort intimacy.

Through the lens of science-fiction (plus a touch of comedy and horror), the film explores the darker consequences of its extreme integration into our lives and bodies. What would conversation be like if you could see your date's interests and level of engagement in real time? And how might our desire for closeness be exploited?

I’m incredibly proud of First Sight; through the warmth and sensitivity Ellise Chappell and Jacob Fortune-Lloyd bring to their roles, and the enormous talents of the production team, the story has grown into something far more moving, resonant, and successful than I ever imagined.
